On Sunday morning, April 12, 2026, Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, monitored the progress of the joint examination conducted by the Department of Oil and Gas Economics at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas in cooperation with its counterparts at several Iraqi universities. These universities included Al-Mustafa University, Al-Nusour University, and the University of Science in Baghdad, as well as Warith Al-Anbiya University in Karbala and Al-Hadara University College in Salah al-Din.The College administration dispatched a number of its faculty members to the aforementioned universities to supervise and monitor the examinations, ensuring their smooth and coordinated conduct in accordance with the approved ministerial instructions and with precision and transparency.The Dean commended the examination procedures adopted by the Department of Oil and Gas Economics, noting their adherence to the regulations and instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Department of Oil and Gas Economics at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a workshop titled "The Impact of Political Instability on the Iraqi Economy" on Thursday evening, April 9, 2026, via Zoom.The workshop was presented by two faculty members from the Department of Oil and Gas Economics: Assistant Lecturer Awatif Abdul Rahman Faraj and Assistant Lecturer Shahd Hassoun Radhi. Faculty members from the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas were also in attendance.The workshop addressed the impact of political instability on the Iraqi economy, explaining that instability generates uncertainty, which negatively affects investment, growth, and the oil sector. It also highlighted that the Iraqi economy has been significantly impacted at various stages, culminating in the current situation characterized by fluctuating oil revenues and weak stability. The workshop emphasized that addressing these challenges requires structural reforms and economic diversification.
Led by Professor Dr. Sami Obaid Mohammed Al-Tamimi, Dean of the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, a delegation from the college visited Al-Kunuz Private University in Basra on Wednesday evening, April 8, 2026. The delegation was received by the University President, Professor Dr. Yousef Al-Asadi, who welcomed the Dean, the Head of the Department of Oil Project Management, Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Abdullah, and the members of the scientific committee tasked with supervising the examinations for students in the Department of Oil Project Management at Al-Kunuz University.This visit aimed to directly oversee the examination process at the university, in accordance with the terms of the twinning agreement between the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas and Al-Kunuz Private University. Scientific supervision and follow-up are integral parts of this agreement, which was approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.The committee supervised the exam for the subject (Management Information Systems in Oil and Gas Projects) in the “Department of Oil Project Management”, and also participated in monitoring inside the examination halls, in the presence of the Dean and the President of “Al-Kunuz University”.
The Department of Oil Project Management at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas organized a training course titled "Applying for Postgraduate Studies" on Tuesday morning, April 7, 2026, in the main conference hall. The course, presented by faculty member Rafid Khader Radhi, was designed for students in all scientific departments within the college.The course focused on the process of searching for and applying to fellowships and scholarships for postgraduate studies outside of Iraq. It emphasized the importance of consulting the list of recognized universities included in the scholarship guide for both employed and self-funded students. The course also covered various types of scholarships worldwide and the application requirements.
Assistant Lecturer Israa Falih Ghali, a faculty member in the Department of Oil Project Management at the College of Industrial Management for Oil and Gas, participated in the Fourth International Scientific Conference, held by the College of Education for Humanities, entitled "Historical Research in the Digital Age," on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.The conference aimed to highlight the transformations taking place in historical research in light of digital development and to demonstrate the impact of modern technologies on developing scientific research tools and expanding the horizons of historical studies. More than 100 researchers from within and outside Iraq participated, presenting various scientific topics that addressed issues of historical research and mechanisms for employing digital technologies in studying historical sources.Ms. Ghali served on one of the conference's scientific committees and received a certificate of attendance and participation.
The College of Engineering at Al-Qadisiyah University organized a scientific discussion panel entitled (Influential Academic Personality in the Field of Creativity and Culture: Dr. Haider Al-Asadi, by choice) on Sunday morning, April 5, 2026, and it was presented by Assistant Lecturer Fatima Jamal Ali, who prepared and presented in English the biography and achievements of the Administrative Assistant at the College of Oil and Gas Industrial Management, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Ali Al-Asadi (writer, journalist, and academic). This seminar comes with the aim of honoring influential figures and encouraging them to Providing more creativity and giving in the fields of culture, thought, and various community activities. The researcher touched on Al-Asadi’s biography, indicating that he obtained master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Basra with distinction, and held multiple academic and administrative positions, including rapporteur of the Department of Oil and Gas Management and Marketing, administrative assistant for the College of Industrial Management of Oil and Gas, and director of the Media and Government Communication Department at Basra University of Oil and Gas, in addition to obtaining memberships in the Syndicate of Academics, Journalists, and Artists and the Union of Oil and Gas. Authors, writers, and a member of the International Union of the Arabic Language, and reviewed the international literary and cultural awards he won in various countries, including (Iran, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia, Sweden, Jordan, Iraq). The lecture explained that Dr. Haider Al-Asadi has 15 books in the fields of thought, culture, literature, criticism, and articles, and most of his books were published outside Iraq. Al-Asadi also contributed by participating in international and local festivals and various humanitarian, cultural, and artistic works throughout his career. Literary and cultural, and Jamal pointed out that Al-Asadi has been writing articles and studies in well-known local and Arab newspapers and magazines for nearly 20 years. He has regular columns in many newspapers and magazines. Thousands of articles have been published for him in the local and Arab press. Studies, articles and scientific research have been written about his experiences. His biography has been mentioned in many dictionaries and bibliographies as one of the most important figures of culture and literature in Basra over the past few years.
